The Bharat Bio Energy Association (BBEA) is an independent, multi-stakeholder platform dedicated to advancing India’s clean energy future through sustainable bioenergy and green hydrogen solutions. Guided by the timeless principle of “प्रकृत्या सह जीवनम्”—living in harmony with nature—BBEA envisions an energy-secure, ecologically balanced, and economically inclusive India.
India generates over 500 million tonnes of biomass annually while aiming to become energy-independent and achieve net-zero emissions by 2070. Bioenergy and green hydrogen represent not just environmental imperatives but also transformative economic opportunities—especially for rural India. These technologies can reduce pollution, create jobs, enhance energy access, and valorize waste into valuable resources.
However, the sector is constrained by fragmented policies, scattered implementation, limited awareness, and weak financing ecosystems. That’s where BBEA steps in—as a unifying force and catalytic platform for collaboration, innovation, and action.
